Tall Tales at Frederick Bremer School

Earlier this week, Artist Vic Lee and Project Curator Ashley worked with the Head of Creative Arts, Mr Hicks, and Year 10 students at Frederick Bremer School during a special enrichment day. Students had a privileged preview of the Tall Tales artwork in progress and learnt about Vic's creative approach and working methods.
They considered ways that a range of contemporary artists employ text in temporary public artworks, before trying their hand at making their own brilliant text artworks with stickers, post-it notes and paper cutting.
It was a really fun, inspiring day and we very much look forward to continue working with Frederick Bremer School staff and students throughout Round 2 of the programme.

The pupils will visit Vic's full size work in situ on Wood Street when they return after the Easter holidays.

Some students comments:

" I learnt some new, different techniques directly from the artist"

"It was fun and entertaining"

"I learnt a lot about different processes and ideas behind the work"

"It was really useful for my Art GCSE, as well as being fun"
